The EndPoint solution that is targeted to provide visibility and communications between public school districts and their schools is called SEMS, or Safety and Emergency Management System. It provides consistent and timely information to all elements of the school system in response to unplanned or emergency events, and provides a security framework for school districts and their schools using existing networks.

SEMS is based upon a very different value proposition than a “traditional” EndPoint application.

At the most basic level, SEMS provides a security backbone for every participating school. This backbone ties together current and future security, safety and facility management systems and transmits that information to the district offices. SEMS can incorporate systems that a school may already have in place while being capable of integrating future technologies and tools as they are introduced. SEMS creates an open framework for schools and gives them a base from which to grow their security and safety system.

SEMS takes the information from the schools and provides that information to the school district in a consistent and easily-interpreted manner. This provides the district office with a real-time, department-wide situational awareness system. The district office operator is provided with a layered, color coded view of all schools, continuously indicating which schools (if any) are experiencing an alarm or an anomalous occurrence.
